Michele’s charge of Centre 42 is driven by her wish that her students and their children will have a place to go where they can find out about Singapore through its art and the arts.
Michele Lim has been involved in the Singapore arts scene as a producer, an arts management consultant, theatre educator for over 2 decades. Her participation in Singapore theatre began with the 1988 Theatreworks’ production of Beauty World. Thereafter, she became Theatreworks’ General Manager from 1991-2000. Michele is also one of the founding members of the Singapore Drama Educator’s Association where she held the posts of president and treasurer.
A fervent advocate for a balanced and productive arts eco-system, Michele has devoted many years to raising public awareness on the appreciation and the creation of the performing arts. It is with this same fervor that Michele became part of TAFY.
As a management consultant, Michele works with many diverse arts organisations ranging from performing arts organisations (theatre, dance and music), industry organisations, government agencies and educational institutions. She is also on the panel of consultants under the SPRING-Business Advisor Programmes for SMEs. Currently a part-time lecturer at both LASALLE College of the Arts and the Singapore Polytechnic’s Diploma in Applied Drama & Psychology, Michele also teaches for the Emily Hill WSQ Diploma in Arts Management.
